African American communities have suffered a disproportional impact from the COVID-19 pandemic. This is true nationally, and it is true in Indiana and Indianapolis. The strong distrust of government, health care professionals and institutions, and science-based information by a significant number of African Americans complicates the community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
